Week 11

We tried to align the sprocket with the swing arm pivot, but the water pump got in the way. So...change of plans. Either way, here are some pictures of the motor.

It was close, but not close enough. After a lot of deliberation, it was time to channel the frame so we could get the motor more upright.

Here's the plan: mark what's in the way...

...take a good look and measure it ten times...

...find the real problem...

...then slice and dice!

Here we are! I know it doesn't look like it worked, but it didQ!

Awesome. Now all we have to do it clean it up.

It definitely works, and the tank isn't too far off, either.

The exhaust fits...sort of. We're trying to figure out how we want to run the exhaust...

We're going to make a straight intake manifold. The original has a good bend to it so Husky can get around the shock, but we don't need that so we're going to go straight. This should fight our tank problem...hopefully.

Here, Mike is making a template for boxing the cut out!

Here are Mike R and Mike L working on the templates..

This is getting really close...

It's all welded together now, and it seems to fit. It's a start.

It fits well, but we still need to work on the swing arm.

This should work. :]

Here's the plate we made.

Time to put everything back together and see if it all fits! Stay tuned!
